Tender’s Bypass Secateurs are traditionally hand made in England, with pear wood scales and full tang high carbon steel blades. The scales are not sealed or waxed so they will darken and burnish with use, becoming more and more personal just like a pair of jeans.

The skeleton of the scissors is cast in two pieces, then ground and sharpened after oil hardening. The spring is exposed spring for easy cleaning and the two parts can be unscrewed for maintenance. The top blade is sharpened and set to ‘bypass’ the bottom, unsharpened, blade for a very clean cut. It is delivered factory-sharpened, but the high carbon steel takes and keeps an edge particularly well with whetstone sharpening.
